The business moved to the fourth floor of a building in Ginza 2-Chome and was renamed “Motoji Orimono LTD.”

The first street-side store was opened in Ginza 2-Chome “Motoji Orimono”.

The shop moved to a slightly larger premise in Ginza 1-Chome on the famous Willow Street.
October 1994
The first products using Willow leaves from Ginza were produced.
January 1995
The company name was changed to “Ginza Motoji”.
August 1996
The first “Rearing Silkworms in Ginza” exhibition was held.
January 1998
Ginza Motoji incorporated and became Ginza Motoji Inc.

“Dyeing with Ginza’s Willow” classes began at Taimei elementary school, the only elementary school in Ginza.

A new shop was opened in Ginza 3-Chome, named “Ginza Motoji Waori”.

A first in the industry, a men’s specialist kimono shop “Ginza Motoji Otoko no Kimono” also opened in Ginza 3-Chome.

A kimono cleaning and repair specialist shop “Shikkai” was established
(Later closing in 2008).

“Mens Kimono life, Why don’t you try it?” was published.

“Ginza Motoji Otoko no Kimono”, the men’s specialist shop was moved to Ginza 4-Chome.

The Oshima Tsumugi Showcase: Choose Your Favorite Oshima event held. Awarding prizes to the makers of the winning kimono.

Ginza Motoji Oshima Tsumugi store celebrated five years. A party was held, with Oshima Tsumugi being the dress code.

The first event in “Gallery Izumi” was held, supporting the growth of emerging weavers and dyers.

“Ginza Motoji Otoko no Kimono” Celebrates 15 years.

The project, “Oshima Tsumugi, woven in Ginza” begins.
An Oshima Tsumugi loom is brought from the island and placed in the store.

“Hajimete no Otoko no Kimono” written by both Koumei Motoji and Keita Motoji is released. The book also includes a DVD on how to wear a kimono.

Ginza Motoji celebrated its 40th year. Due to COVID19 plans to celebrate were cancelled.
